Carlisle Diocesan Guild — Cumbrian Codgers September

Thursday, 13th September 2018

This month’s outing is to Furness. There are three lovely rings of bells lined up for us, I am being slightly self-indulgent this month as these are all favourites of mine.

There’s no pre-booking for a meal so feel free to take your favoured approach to lunch, however I am definitely going to patronise “The Brown Cow” in Dalton as I’m told that it’s as good as ever for lunches, not to mention beers.

I’m afraid it will be an earlier than usual start for most of us – unless you’re coming from the “Cumbrian Riviera” that is – but I’m sure it will be worth it. Please do try to get along this month, not only are the bells great, but you won’t see me for six months afterwards either – can’t get any better than that can it?

10.30-11.30: Flookburgh (17cwt 8)

12.30-13.30: Barrow in Furness (12cwt 8)

Lunch

15.30-16.30: Dalton in Furness (22cwt 10)

NB: It’s the Westmorland Show, so M6 jct.36 will be significantly busier than normal, it would be wise to allow a fair bit of extra time!
