Chester D G Wirral Branch — Branch Ringing and Striking Competition at Thurstaston.

Saturday, 28th April 2018

Ring Randle on 07854633185 for more information.

We are holding our next branch event at Thurstaston on Saturday 28th April. Starting in the morning at 10.30 am with general ringing for everyone. After a lunch break at 12 Noon in the local coffee shop, this is situated in Church Farm next to the church; we will go back to St Bartholomew’s and have our branch striking competition, with our new trial format.

The only difference is we have removed the one rule that the entire band must be from the same tower. This is because we often find that a few ringers turn up, would like to ring but they don’t have enough ringers from their tower.

This year we will put each name into one of 6 hats, all we ask is for ringers to indicate a preference, if you would like to conduct, your name will go into the conductors hat. If you have a preference to ring the 6th and cover for a doubles band, your name would go into number 6 hat and if you wish to ring the treble it would be number 1 hat for you. We will draw for order of ringing at 2.30p.m. the winning band will be presented with the Alex Martin Shield and they can display it in their home towers.

However, the band that enters the guild 6 bell competition will have to abide by the CDG competition rules and all be Sunday service ringers of the same tower.
