Guildford District’s annual Quarter Peal weekend follows a well established format. I organise attempts which enable local ringers to move up to the next level by ringing quarter peals with a strong band round them. This year we scored 12 quarters from 14 attempts, and although we had no first quarters we did have a number of significant firsts: first minor, both on the treble and inside, first surprise minor and major, first on ten and first Stedman Cinques, amongst others. Over 40 local ringers were involved.

Organising the weekend is a team effort - booking the towers, arranging the bands, conducting the quarter peals and booking tables for dinner in the pub on Saturday evening and I want to thank everyone who helped make the event a success - you know who you are.
