Sussex County Association — Bonnie bells - and a timorous beastie17th – 19th May 2019
17 Sussex ringers & friends travelled North. Some took the High Road from Gatwick to Inverness while others took the Low, by car or overnight sleeper. But all were energised by the beautiful surroundings, wonderful facilities and the two rings of bells - easy going and pleasant to listen to. The Tulloch Ringing Centre is a special venue to allow you to progress your ringing skills (there’s a dumb bell & simulator too) while enjoying a drink and something to eat with friends. A great way to build up your confidence in ringing on 12. In total, we managed 1 peal and 9 quarters including 1 with members of the local band and 1 on handbells. And lots of practice ringing too! Many thanks in particular to Helen, Peter & Stephen for making us so welcome. And the timorous beastie? - a magnificent red deer stag came up close several times during our visit, a bit off-putting for the peal band but an unforgettable moment to capture on camera. Your event has been typeset for The Ringing World. If you link additional performances they will show with the event in Bellboard but will not be printed together.
