Especially arranged and rung to celebrate the 350th Anniversary today (the Feast of St Bartholomew) of the coming into use of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, Licensed by Act of Parliament for use as the doctrinal and liturgical standard for the Established Church, and which continues today to be the only officially authorised text for use in the Church of England (following the failure of the deposited Book of 1928 to gain Parliamentary Assent and the subsequent unofficial licensing of such as Series 1,2,3, the Abolished Service Book (1980) and the latest Comic Worship). The Conductor is Secretary of the Canterbury Diocese Branch of the Prayer Book Society.
The ringers of Treble & 3-4 hail from Horam (Sussex) and Ashford (Kent) respectively, the remainder from Burmarsh (Kent)
Also to congratulate Hayley-May Periam (of the Burmarsh ringers) on her O-Level pass (C at GCSE) at the tender age of 14.
