A parting touch to the ringer of sixth, who is going away to commence training for the Priesthood (RC) on Monday next.

First Quarter Peal on the bells since releathering the baldricks of 1,2,3,4 and 6, and tightening the wheels and refitting/tightening of wheel-stays on 1 and 4. Commemorating the passing of the 134th anniversary of the current rehang, and the Conductor's 20th anniversary of commencing Steeplekeeping duties here.

The first recorded ringing of Treble Bob Major in the Kent Variation on these bells and this installation. The ringing accomplished here between 1803 and 1818 was in peals either of Treble Bob Major in the Oxford Variation (1803 & 1804) or Bob Major. (Image: Christopher J Cooper)
