Especially arranged and rung for the repose of the soul of Christopher Llewellyn Esq., for many years a resident in the village and supporter of local ringing; also a mainstay of the village cricket club. He also assisted at the bar in the Shepherd & Crook during the tenure of the former landlord. In his youth Mr Llewellyn was also a Chorister of Hythe Parish Church Choir, and a worker at Mackeson's Brewery, Hythe.
This Quarter Peal was rung with the bells muffled at handstroke, following the funeral at Hawkinge Crematorium, and was rung as the guests arrived at the 'wake' held at the Shepherd & Crook next door, which was also attended by the former landlord, E.A.W. Greene Esq. and many old parishioners &c
