Especially arranged and rung (commencing 1:15pm) as a hearty congratulation to our New Romney Bellringers' Secretary, Miss Rebecca S. Dearing who had just arrived back in the Parish having been (along with two friends, Emma & Pat, plus approx 15,000 other walkers!) walking the 26.2 mile long "Moonwalk" along the London Marathon Route all the preceding night, beginning 12 midnight and finishing approx 10am. Between the girls, they have raised several thousand pounds for the cause of Breast Cancer research, and later a splendid party was held to congratulate them all heartily on their success at the pub of which Miss Dearing is Landlady, the "Prince of Wales", Fairfield Road, New Romney.
