This is the longest peal of changes ever rung, and was completed to the satisfaction of hundreds of listeners, trustworthy referees, and well-known ringers from all parts of the country. Umpires: H.W. Abbott (Loughborough) and J. Buttery (Leicester), who checked the courses from copies of the peal in full. Reduced from 21,024 owing to the illness of one of the band. The conductor desires to say that while this peal cuts the Kidlington record in number of changes only, that performance still holds the palm for weight of metal, and remains a monument of ability.
