Rung on the centenary of the death of Second Lieutenant Mark Thomas Washbrook, son of James W. Washbrook. Died of wounds on 21/11/1918, aged 20. East Lancashire Regiment 5th Bn. attd. 11th Bn. Commemorated at Terlincthun British Cemetery, Wimille, France.
A Manchester ringer from a ringing family, just before the Armistice he was attending the burial of one of his men when a shell burst close by. Severely wounded in the head, he was taken to hospital in Boulogne, but died of his wounds some days later.
