Bell’s Life in London, Sat. 23 Feb. 1867 (From research carried out by John Eisel):
On the evening of Feb 17 seven members of St Lawrence’s Change Ringers, assisted by J. Lloyd of Wednesbury, ascended the tower of the above church, and rang a true peal of grandsire triples, containing 1,867 changes, being the date of the present year, in 1h 8min. The band was stationed as follows:— H. Pedley treble, G. Ashmore 2, W. Johnson 3, J. Lloyd 4, J. Bruerton 5, W. Smith 6, J. Simkin 7, J. Small tenor. Composed and conducted by J. Bruerton.
