Rung by the local band with the bells half muffled to mark the centenary of the death of Private EDWARD THOMAS ROSSINGTON who served in the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment) and was killed on 13th June 1917, aged 25. He was the seventh Blankney resident to be killed during the Great War. He was the elder brother of William Henry Rossington who was a ringer here at Blankney and who himself was sadly killed 10 months later in April 1918.
This quarter was postponed until today (6 months) due to a broken clapper earlier this year at the time of his centenary.
When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say, For Your Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today.
Honourable age does not depend on length of days, nor is the number of years a true measure of life.
(Rung also for the Lincoln Diocesan Guild)

This performance is linked to the event Saint Andrew's and All Saints Society — Blankney Remembers (WW1 commemorations)
