Specially arranged to mark the centenary of the death of Private William Harland (38) of the Lincolnshire Regiment who was killed on 6th September 1917. He lived in Whitby and was a ringer at this church.
He is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium.
William Harland's grand-daughter listened to the peal.
