Rung half-muffled in commemoration of the centenary of the death on 8 June 1917 of Private John H Odey of the Durham Light Infantry, a Christ Church ringer.
Remembered with Honour on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. His name liveth for evermore.
We were joined after the peal by Angela Condict and her brothers, Martin and Terry Kibble, three of John's great grandchildren, who came to listen to the latter part of the ringing.
